Maintaining safe and efficient operation in a single-phase pulse width modulation (PWM) rectifier that employs current sensors relies heavily on accurate sensor readings. However, several factors such as environmental conditions, aging, or damage can lead to faults. Therefore, it is imperative implement robust fault detection methods ensure reliable system operation. The use of unknown input observer techniques one method involves analyzing the differences between actual estimated states detect identify faults system. This paper presents development an with high sensitivity disturbance rejection achieve detection. modeling state-space model designing estimate system’s state variables based output measurements. deviations are then analyzed faults, without need for additional hardware, making cost-effective solution. Hardware-in-the-loop tests confirm effectiveness proposed method.
