Role of cellulose nanocrystals in epoxy-based nanocomposites: mechanical properties, morphology and thermal behavior

چکیده
This study evaluated the influence of cellulose nanocrystals (CNC) content on properties epoxy nanocomposites. The CNC were obtained from microcrystalline by acid hydrolysis. 4.0, 5.5 and 7.0% untreated incorporated into resin. Sonication was used to disperse in thermal stability, glass transition temperature degree conversion reduced as observed Thermogravimetry Differential Scanning Calorimetry, respectively. tensile bending modulus showed no significant improvement impact resistance a slight reduction due non-uniform dispersion CNCs, Transmission Electron Microscopy. Analysis Microscopy change fracture mechanism resin: CNCs increased elastic reinforcement, but accelerated acting defects. Halpin-Tsai model applied predict epoxy/CNC system.
