چکیده
The characterization of strain rate effects near glass transition temperature (Tg) gives important information on flow behavior metallic glasses (MGs). For this purpose, the tensile jump test was carried out to evaluate behaviors ZrCoAl(Si) MG ribbons. primary thermal analyses showed that Si minor addition into ZrCoAl alloy leads betterment stability and forming ability (GFA), correlated with small size atoms subsequent formation denser atomic clusters thermodynamically liquid stabilization in system. indicated adding element decreases sensitivity glassy stress improves amorphous structure under increase applied temperature. It also observed viscosity is more stable Si-added sample, implying high capability viscoplastic response state.

Effect of high strain rates on peak stress in a Zr-based bulk metallic glass
The mechanical behavior of Zr41.25Ti13.75Cu12.5Ni10Be22.5 LM-1 has been extensively characterized under quasistatic loading conditions; however, its mechanical behavior under dynamic loading conditions is currently not well understood. A Split–Hopkinson pressure bar SHPB and a single-stage gas gun are employed to characterize the mechanical behavior of LM-1 in the strain-rate regime of 102–105 ...

The glass-forming ability (GFA) and the magnetic properties of the [(Fe0.5Co0.5)0.75B0.20Si0.05]96Nb4−xYx bulk metallic glasses (BMGs) have been studied. The partial replacement of Nb by Y improves the thermal stability of the glass against crystallization. The saturation mass magnetization (σs) exhibits a maximum around 2 at. % Y, and the value of σs of the alloy with 2 at. % Y is 6.5% larger ...
متن کاملEffects of annealing and specimen geometry on dynamic compression of a Zr-based bulk metallic glass
High strain-rate compression experiments were performed with a split-Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB) at 500–4000/s on cylindrical samples of a Zr-based bulk metallic glass (LM-1) in both the fully amorphous and annealed conditions. The effects of changes to the specimen geometry (i.e., L/D ratio) and the material heat treatment [i.e., annealing versus amorphous (as-received)], on the peak stress,...

Low-velocity plate impact experiments using a single-stage gas-gun are performed on Zr58.5Cu15.6Ni12.8Al10.3Nb2.8. Compressive fracture surfaces of the samples subjected to varying impact velocities and stress amplitudes are evaluated in order to study their loading rate dependence. Samples impacted at increasing loading rates, from increasing velocities of impact, show a larger extent of local...
متن کاملInfluences of Sample Preparation on Nanoindentation Behavior of a Zr-Based Bulk Metallic Glass
Influences of two different sample preparation methods, mechanical polishing and plunge cutting, on nanoindentation behavior of a Zr-based bulk metallic glass were studied. Mechanical polishing suppresses the serrated flow but promotes the creep. In contrast, plunge cutting promotes the serrated flow but suppresses the creep. However, hardness and elastic modulus obtained from these two methods...
