SCALPEL VERSUS DIODE LASER FOR GINGIVAL DEPIGMENTATION: A CASE REPORT

Gingival hyperpigmentation is believed to be a genetic trait in populations and more appropriately termed physiologic or racial gingival pigmentation condition, which affects all races differently. depigmentation most frequently performed as an esthetic periodontal plastic surgical procedure. There are various procedures like scalpel, laser. Cryosurgery, diamond burs chemical methods have been used this This case report compares the efficacy of two techniques. Maxillary anterior region was treated with scalpel technique mandibular using Diode Laser. Both treatment modalities were effective terms patient acceptance. Scalpel resulted uneventful healing site. Laser showed some beneficial effects bloodless field during procedure healed uneventfully. Patient discomfort laser site initial period compared scalpel.
