چکیده
An integral part of scattering theory calculations in continuum quantum systems involves identifying appropriate boundary conditions addition to writing down the correct Hamiltonian. In simplest problem one dimensional lattice, due an on-site potential and unequal bond (in otherwise translationally invariant lattice) give different results for amplitudes. While problems lattice models can be mapped another potential, equivalent model is missing. We introduce a new parameter $c$ condition that on lattice. Further, we study junction between normal metal wire edge spin Hall insulator (QSHI) using $c$. case QSHI, identify permits maximum transmission. solve QSHI map it results. The transport four channels spinful two not well-defined. rectify this situation by formulating terms semi-infinite with infinite gapping out section Zeeman field applying at junction. calculate amplitudes analytically.

Conductance in quantum wires by three quantum dots arrays
A noninteracting quantum-dot arrays side coupled to a quantum wire is studied. Transport through the quantum wire is investigated by using a noninteracting Anderson tunneling Hamiltonian. The conductance at zero temperature develops an oscillating band with resonances and antiresonances due to constructive and destructive interference in the ballistic channel, respectively. Moreover, we have fo...
متن کاملElectronic states of wires and slabs of topological insulators : Quantum Hall effects and edge transport
We develop a simple model of surface states for topological insulators, developing matching relations for states on surfaces of different orientations. The model allows one to write simple Dirac Hamiltonians for each surface, and to determine how perturbations that couple to electron spin impact them. We then study two specific realizations of such systems: quantum wires of rectangular cross-se...

متن کاملSpin dephasing in quantum wires
We study high-field spin transport in a quantum wire using a semiclassical approach. Spin dephasing (or spin depolarization) in the wire is caused by D’yakonov-Perel’ relaxation associated with bulk inversion asymmetry (Dresselhaus spin-orbit coupling) and structural inversion asymmetry (Rashba spin-orbit coupling). The depolarization rate is found to depend strongly on the initial polarization...
