Secondary DNA Barcodes (CAM, GAPDH, GS, and RpB2) to Characterize Species Complexes and Strengthen the Powdery Mildew Phylogeny

چکیده
Powdery mildews are a group of economically and ecologically important plant pathogens. In the past 25 years use ribosomal DNA (rDNA) in powdery has led to major taxonomic revisions. However, broad scale rDNA also revealed multiple species complexes that cannot be differentiated based on ITS + LSU data alone. Currently, there only two mildew studies took multi-locus approach resolve complex. present study, we introduce primers sequence four additional regions (CAM, GAPDH, GS, RPB2) have potential improve support values both fine phylogenetic analyses. The were applied set genera China United States, analyses included some common complexes. taxa with nearly identical sequences great amount diversity. total 154 non-rDNA from 11 different deposited NCBI’s GenBank, laying foundation for secondary barcode databases mildews. combined single loci trees constructed generally followed previously defined species/genus concepts Future research can these conduct depth phylogenetic, elucidate evolutionary relationships within

Molecular phylogeny and evolution of the maple powdery mildew (Sawadaea, Erysiphaceae) inferred from nuclear rDNA sequences.
To understand the phylogenetic relationships and evolution of the powdery mildew genus Sawadaea (Ascomycota: Erysiphaceae), obligate parasitic fungi of maples, we performed molecular phylogenetic analyses based on 47 ITS and ten 28S rDNA sequences. Seven major clades of Sawadaea, each represented by powdery mildew specimens collected from a single or a small number of closely related sections o...
متن کاملA brief global review on the species of cucurbit powdery mildew fungi and new records in Taiwan
In spite of the economic importance of powdery mildew on cucurbits, literature and databases about the fungal species reveal different species numbers and names, often indicating only two species, with inconsistent host specificities for different members of Cucurbitaceae. Revision of the available literature indicates the presence of at least six species of powdery mildews on Cucurbitaceae wit...
متن کاملDNA Barcodes of Arabian Partridge and Philby’s Rock Partridge: Implications for Phylogeny and Species Identification
Recently, DNA barcoding based on mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) has gained wide attention because of simplicity and robustness of these barcodes for species identification including birds. The current GenBank records show the COI barcodes of only one species, chukar partridge (Alectoris chukar), of the Alectoris genus. In this study, we sequenced the 694 bp segment of COI ge...
