Segregation of Eastern Filbert Blight Disease Response and Single Nucleotide Polymorphism Markers in Three European–American Interspecific Hybrid Hazelnut Populations

چکیده
The perennial stem canker disease eastern filbert blight (EFB), caused by Anisogramma anomala , is devastating to most trees of European hazelnut ( Corylus avellana ), as genetic resistance rare in the species. pathogen harbored wild American americana ) found throughout much North America. Wild generally resistant or tolerant EFB, and fully cross compatible with C. species grown commercially for its nuts, making it a valuable resource breeding. objective this study was identify quantitative trait loci (QTLs) associated EFB tolerance these two Three unrelated EFB-resistant selections [Oregon State University (OSU) 533.069 from Pennsylvania, OSU 403.040 Nebraska, 557.122 Wisconsin] were crossed ‘Tonda di Giffoni’ (TdG), cultivar Italy known be EFB. Their progenies, each containing 124 trees, exposed A. through field inoculations natural spread over 7 years, then tree evaluated cumulative response. Results showed that response all three populations exhibited roughly normal distribution, indicating resistance/tolerance under multigenic control. An average 2869 total markers used construct population’s linkage map following genotyping, which included an 121 published simple sequence repeat anchor groups (LGs) those previous studies. Linkage maps constructed parent population QTLs subsequent analysis resolved five EFB-related across populations, highlighting genic regions. Unexpectedly, only one QTL identified parents, located on LG11 403.040, whereas similar region LG10 TdG, fifth LG6 TdG map. lack strong parents suggests their may highly not within constraints study. In contrast, appears conferred limited number genes relatively effects. Based prior mapping work where R have been LG2, LG6, LG7, represent novel These present new targets marker aided breeding, especially when pyramiding goal.

A total of 1,110 decamer primers were screened for RAPD markers linked to a dominant allele in hazelnut (Corylus avellcma) that confers resistance to eastern filbert blight caused by A~zisogrcrinmn anomnl~z. متن کاملSingle Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) in the Adiponectin Gene and Cardiovascular Disease
Dear Editor, The recent article by Mohammadzadeh et al.[1] on the latest issue of this Journal showed that the T allele +276G/T SNP of ADIPOQ gene is more associated with the increasing risk of coronary artery disease (CAD) in subjects with type 2 diabetes. Adipocytes were described in myocardial tissue of CAD patients and their role recently discussed[2,3]. Susceptibility to CAD by polymorp...

Background Single nucleotide polymorphism (SNPs) are considered as one of the underlying causes of male infertility. Proper sperm chromatin packaging which involves replacement of histones with protamines has profound effect on male fertility. Over 20 SNPs have been reported for the protamine 1 and 2. MaterialsAndMethods The aim of this study was to evaluate the frequency of two previously repo...
متن کاملApplication of single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) as a molecular marker in the study of genetic diversity of aquatic populations
Genetic diversity is one of the important and essential characteristics of any population for its survival. The study of genetic variation in different populations of aquatic organisms is of particular importance in order to protect, stabilize and manage their stocks. Based on studies conducted in recent years, molecular markers have proven that they can be used as indicators of the genetic div...
متن کاملCharacterization of single nucleotide polymorphism markers for eelgrass (Zostera marina).
We characterized 37 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) makers for eelgrass Zostera marina. SNP markers were developed using existing EST (expressed sequence tag)-libraries to locate polymorphic loci and develop primers from the functional expressed genes that are deposited in The ZOSTERA database (V1.2.1). SNP loci were genotyped using a single-base-extension approach which facilitated high-t...
