Seismic Random Noise Attenuation in the Laplace Domain Using Singular Value Decomposition

We attenuated incoherent seismic noise using singular value decomposition in the Laplace domain. Laplace-domain wavefields are sensitive to small-amplitude contaminating first-arrival signals due damping transform; this is boosted by transform, so we need attenuate amplified transformed into domain and logarithmic applying a moving average filter low-rank approximation truncated decomposition. The process was very efficient since number of matrix same as coefficients. removed highly oscillatory random from wavefields, denoised were used subsequent full waveform inversions. inversions synthetic field data demonstrated that denoising wavefield does not significantly alter inversion results; however, approach could reduce misfit errors uncertainties noise.
