Selective cationic dye sorption in water by a two-dimensional zinc-carboxylate coordination polymer and its melamine-formaldehyde foam composite

A new two-dimensional zinc(II) coordination polymer of 5-aminoisophtalic acid (H 2 AIP), namely [Zn(AIP)(DMSO)] n ( Zn-CP ), has been successfully prepared via conventional heating at 100 ?°C in a (2:1) dimethyl sulfoxide/ethanol solvent mixture. The compound characterized by FT-IR spectroscopy, elemental and thermogravimetric analyses, powder single-crystal X-ray diffraction techniques. Crystal structure shows the presence neutral layers composition Zn(AIP) 6 3 -hcb topology, which are decorated only on one side with dangling DMSO molecules. Moreover, composite Zn-CP@Foam also fabricated growing crystals 3D porous melamine-formaldehyde foam (MF) immersion pieces MF precursor solution polymer. Both materials have studied for adsorption water cationic dyes, such as Violet CV Victoria Blue VB ) Malachite Green MG anionic Sunset Yellow SY Congo Red CR Aniline AB ).
