چکیده
Abstract Regular monitoring of inland water bodies is essential to identify the areas deteriorating quality and take measures curb impairment. The present study aims develop a semi-analytical model for estimating Trophic State Index (TSI) from Sentinel 2 (S2) imagery. A algorithm, QAA-v6, parameterized S2 data (referred as QAA-S2) based on correlation between retrieved inherent optical properties (IOPs) imagery measured TSI Milford Lake in USA. accuracy estimation by this modified three different lakes located USA one lake India has increased almost 50%, when compared with that QAA-v6. analysis IOPs QAA-S2 using outputs atmospheric correction processors (ACPs) (namely C2RCC, Acolite Sen2Cor) was carried out C2RCC gave least mean absolute percentage error (MAPE<8%) estimation. single-scattering albedo (u) at B5 B6 bands reasonable (MAPE<12%) mark them computationally efficient estimators TSI. These results indicate usefulness transferability various parts globe

Estimation of Chlorophyll-a Concentration from Optimizing a Semi-Analytical Algorithm in Productive Inland Waters
The high nutrient concentrations coming from non-point and point pollution have been linked to algae blooms, especially in hydroelectric plant reservoirs, due to higher residence time compared to rivers. The monitoring of algae is important to prevent risk of contamination by toxins in reservoirs used for drinking water supply. In this context, a physical model-based approach was adopted to ret...

This study conducts an exploratory evaluation of the performance of the newly available Sentinel-2A Multispectral Instrument (MSI) imagery for mapping water bodies using the image sharpening approach. Sentinel-2 MSI provides spectral bands with different resolutions, including RGB and Near-Infra-Red (NIR) bands in 10 m and Short-Wavelength InfraRed (SWIR) bands in 20 m, which are closely relate...

Monitoring open water bodies accurately is an important and basic application in remote sensing. Various water body mapping approaches have been developed to extract water bodies from multispectral images. The method based on the spectral water index, especially the Modified Normalized Difference Water Index (MDNWI) calculated from the green and Shortwave-Infrared (SWIR) bands, is one of the mo...

Satellite altimetry for inland water applications has evolved from investigation of water height retrieval to monitoring since last two decades. Altimetry derived reservoir/ river levels can subsequently be used to deal with key inland water resources problems such as flood, rating curve generation for remote locations, reservoir operations, and calibration of river/lake models. In this work 29...
