Polynomial degree bounds for matrix semi-invariants
We study the left-right action of SL n × SL n on m-tuples of n × n matrices with entries in an infinite field K. We show that invariants of degree n 2 − n define the null cone. Consequently, invariants of degree ≤ n 6 generate the ring of invariants if char(K) = 0. We also prove that for m ≫ 0, invariants of degree at least n⌊ √ n + 1⌋ are required to define the null cone. We generalize our res...
متن کاملOn generating the ring of matrix semi-invariants
For a field F, let R(n,m) be the ring of invariant polynomials for the action of SL(n,F) × SL(n,F) on tuples of matrices – (A,C) ∈ SL(n,F)× SL(n,F) sends (B1, . . . , Bm) ∈ M(n,F) to (AB1C , . . . , ABmC ). In this paper we call R(n,m) the ring of matrix semi-invariants. Let β(R(n,m)) be the smallest D s.t. matrix semi-invariants of degree ≤ D generate R(n,m). Guided by the Procesi-Razmyslov-Fo...
متن کاملJacobi Operational Matrix Approach for Solving Systems of Linear and Nonlinear Integro-Differential Equations
This paper aims to construct a general formulation for the shifted Jacobi operational matrices of integration and product. The main aim is to generalize the Jacobi integral and product operational matrices to the solving system of Fredholm and Volterra integro--differential equations which appear in various fields of science such as physics and engineering. The Operational matr...
متن کاملThe spectral properties of differential operators with matrix coefficients on elliptic systems with boundary conditions
Let $$(Lv)(t)=sum^{n} _{i,j=1} (-1)^{j} d_{j} left( s^{2alpha}(t) b_{ij}(t) mu(t) d_{i}v(t)right),$$ be a non-selfadjoint differential operator on the Hilbert space $L_{2}(Omega)$ with Dirichlet-type boundary conditions. In continuing of papers [10-12], let the conditions made on the operator $ L$ be sufficiently more general than [11] and [12] as defined in Section $1$. In this paper, we estim...
متن کاملSemi-local invariants
Geometr ic invariants are shape desrriptors that remain unchanged under geometric transformations such as projection, or change of the viewpoint. In [,?I we devc’loped a new method of obtaining local projert ive antl affine invariants for a general curve without any correspondences. Being local, the invariants are much Ii ss sensitive to occlusion than global invariants . The iniiariants comput...
