چکیده

Nitrite contamination of groundwater is a concerning consequence anthropic activity. The electrochemical detection nitrite in water based on direct electrocatalytic oxidation over modified electrodes. However, drawbacks associated to the high potential required, oxide layer formation, and O2 interference are present. Considering recent availability low cost platinum-group-metal-free (PGM-free) electrocatalyst, new sensing strategy presented this class material commonly used for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) fuel cells. working principle relies inhibition ORR active sites PGM-free caused by interaction with nitrite. parameters interest were determined through cyclic voltammetry chronopotentiometry using rotating disk electrode minimize diffusion limitations at electrode. linearity range sensor was 1–100 µM, sensitivity 3.4 mV µM−1, limit (LOD) sub-µM range. Based optimization electrocatalyst thickness its reusability, 1 USD ∼2000 tests calculated.

Nitrogen-doped carbon dots decorated on graphene: a novel all-carbon hybrid electrocatalyst for enhanced oxygen reduction reaction.

An all-carbon hybrid, composed of coal-based nitrogen-doped carbon dots decorated on graphene, was prepared via hydrothermal treatment. The hybrid possesses comparable electrocatalytic activity, better durability and methanol tolerance than those of the commercial Pt-based electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction, indicative of its great potential in fuel cells.

Cobalt-zinc nitride on nitrogen doped carbon black nanohybrids as a non-noble metal electrocatalyst for oxygen reduction reaction.

Bimetallic nitrides are now being considered as one of the emerging advanced functional materials due to their characteristic features and remarkable physicochemical properties. Herein, we report a new crystalline bimetallic nitride (Co3ZnN) that belongs to the cubic crystal phase, which was successfully synthesized through direct nitridation of metallic salts as precursors. Co3ZnN nanoparticle...

A readily-prepared, convergent, oxygen reduction electrocatalyst.

Monomeric cobalt(II) tetraphenylporphyrin immobilized in high concentrations within vapour-phase polymerized polypyrrole deposited on an ITO electrode catalyzes the 4-electron reduction of dioxygen to water, a reaction requiring concerted action by two separate catalytic groups.

Oxygen Reduction Electrocatalysts Based on Coupled Iron Nitride Nanoparticles with Nitrogen-Doped Carbon

Aimed at developing a highly active and stable non-precious metal electrocatalyst for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), a novel FexNy/NC nanocomposite—that is composed of highly dispersed iron nitride nanoparticles supported on nitrogen-doped carbon (NC)—was prepared by pyrolyzing carbon black with an iron-containing precursor in an NH3 atmosphere. The influence of the various synthetic paramete...
