Separation of Magnesium and Lithium from Brine Water and Bittern Using Sodium Silicate Precipitation Agent

نویسندگان

چکیده

Potential natural resources of lithium in Indonesia from brine water and bittern generally have low high magnesium levels, which need to be separated before further extraction. This research investigates the separation process using a sodium silicate solution. The experimental results showed that precipitation efficiency was better than bittern. A selectivity ratio (Mg/Li) below 1 obtained 0.59 0.11 with addition 1.25 mole fraction solution ions. After at optimum leaching distilled water, lithium’s recovery filtrate 84% 35%, respectively. In increased ions filtrate. However, bittern, without dissolving into products were identified as complex compounds forms Li2MgO4SiLi2(MgSiO4) LiMg4Na3O30Si12 phases, while mostly had phase CaO·MgO·Si2O5 (Diopside) LiCl.

Preparation and physicochemical properties of surfactant-free emulsions using electrolytic-reduction ion water containing lithium magnesium sodium silicate.

Surfactant-free emulsions by adding jojoba oil, squalane, olive oil, or glyceryl trioctanoate (medium chain fatty acid triglycerides, MCT) to electrolytic-reduction ion water containing lithium magnesium sodium silicate (GE-100) were prepared, and their physiochemical properties (thixotropy, zeta potential, and mean particle diameter) were evaluated. At an oil concentration of 10%, the zeta pot...

Magnesium silicate-water system chromatography for the separation of corticosteroids.

Migration of corticosteroids on a paper strip with a solvent system of water alone was reported by Nakao et al.(1960). This report is of great interest and significance, especially in view of the generally accepted notion that a specific volatile organic solvents are necessary as mobile phase for the migration of steroids. The running rates of each corticosteroids, however, were not sufficientl...

The Precipitation of Calcium and Magnesium from Sea Water.*

ApPARENTLYcalcium carbonate is precipitated in certain parts of the ocean by processes which are inorganic in so far as that the calcium does not first form a true constituent of organisms (Clarke, 1920, p. 128). The conditions governing solubility of calcium in sea-water have been reviewed by Johnston and Williamson (1916) with the conclusion that surface layers of the ocean are approximately ...
