چکیده

We define a notion of higher order renormalization group equation and investigate when sequence trees satisfies such an equation. In the strongest sense, $k$th applying any choice Feynman rules results in Green function satisfying equation, we characterize all sequences trees. also make some comments on which require special choices to satisfy

Renormalization methods for higher order differential equations

We adapt methodology of statistical mechanics and quantum field theory to approximate solutions to an arbitrary order ordinary differential equation boundary value problem by a second-order equation. In particular, we study equations involving the derivative of a double-well potential such as u− u3 or − u + 2u3. Using momentum (Fourier) space variables we average over short length scales and de...

Perturbation theory and renormalization group equations

Renormalization group ~RG! methods are an essential ingredient in the study of nonperturbative problems in continuum and lattice formulations of quantum field theory. A number of RG equations have been proposed, where the starting point is the ~infrared! regularized one-loop effective action. Taking the derivative with respect to the infrared scale together with a subsequent one-loop improvemen...

Renormalization group equations and geometric flows

The quantum field theory of two-dimensional sigma models with bulk and boundary couplings provides a natural framework to realize and unite different species of geometric flows that are of current interest in mathematics. In particular, the bulk renormalization group equation gives rise to the Ricci flow of target space metrics, to lowest order in perturbation theory, whereas the boundary renor...

Approximate Solutions of Exact Renormalization Group Equations

We study exact renormalization group equations in the framework of the effective average action. We present analytical approximate solutions for the scale dependence of the potential in a variety of models. These solutions display a rich spectrum of physical behaviour such as fixed points governing the universal behaviour near second order phase transitions, critical exponents, first order tran...
