This paper reported the development of an alcohol sensor based on a glass substrate platform. The was coated with two nanomaterial types: Hydroxyethylcellulose/Polyvinylidene fluoride (HEC/PVDF) and Agarose Gel, for comparison purposes. Three layers coating material have been applied to obtain optimum sensing response. is kept dry 24 hours before expose variations ethanol concentration investigate A significant response concentrations has observed both samples due changeable refractive index layer material. sensitivity improved by factor 1.18 1.51, respectively, compared bared glass. proposed employed low-cost commercially available components such as substrate, LED light source Arduino microcontroller perform sensor. It prevents using expensive laser-based sensors, which less practical in real industrial applications.
