چکیده
Abstract A weather routing tool is presented based on forecasted data along the route and considering safety aspects. The aims to determine optimal path for minimisation of fuel oil consumption, ensuring a safe passage. It developed in MATLAB considers detailed ship characteristics. Specifically, ship's motions consumption main engine during potential are estimated. For latter, physics-based model specific vessel where tools different level detail utilised calculate various resistance components. speed management strategy specified as well criteria representing acceptable limits responses. When set constraints have been set, genetic algorithm used find by means heading or both power settings variables minimise consumption. search space lies within predefined envelop, but still evolutionary optimisation approach has no pre-assigned values any possible candidate waypoint.

An Application Study of Multi-Agent Systems in Multi-Criteria Ship Design Optimisation
The overall complexity of optimisation problems in ship design results in high computation time requirements. The high computation time requirements for objective function evaluations in a complex design optimisation problem can practically be reduced by either using parallel execution of the objective functions in state-of-the-art super computers or concurrent execution of the objective functi...
متن کاملPSO-Based Path Planning Algorithm for Humanoid Robots Considering Safety
In this paper we introduce an improvement in the path planning algorithm for the humanoid soccer playing robot which uses Ferguson splines and PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization). The objective of the algorithm is to find a path through other playing robots to the ball, which should be as short as possible and also safe enough. Ferguson splines create preliminary paths using random generated para...
متن کاملMultiple-Criteria Approach to Optimisation of Multidimensional Data Models
This paper presents a novel approach to the adaptation ofmultidimensional data models to user-specific needs. The multidimensional data models used in contemporary business-intelligence systems are inherently complex. In order to reduce the complexity of these models, we propose using a qualitative multiple-criteria decision modelling method that is based on using a hierarchical tree of the cri...
متن کاملMultiobjective Approach to Weather Routing
The paper presents a weather routing solution for sail-assisted ships. Since the route finding optimisation process is a multiobjective one, the emphasis is put on possible application of multiobjective optimisation methods. The paper focuses on two such methods, namely evolutionary algorithms and ranking methods represented by Fuzzy TOPSIS. In addition, a proposed set of optimization criteria ...
