Shortest Path Algorithms for Pedestrian Navigation Systems

چکیده

Efficient shortest path algorithms are of key importance for routing and navigation systems. However, these applications designed focusing on the requirements motor vehicles, therefore, finding paths in pedestrian sections urban areas is not sufficiently supported. In addition, often adequate sidewalk routes, as users may also be interested alternative routes that, although slightly longer, possess other desirable features properties. According to literature, search carried out mainly using k-shortest (KSP) algorithm which represents an ordered list all available alternatives. Even though various KSP have been proposed, best our knowledge, there no research addressing issues inherent a system. The purpose this paper present heuristic graph datasets that implements penalty-based method which, by increasing certain edge weights, effectively searches most accessible multi-route cases. To demonstrate how works, we experimental results historical center Thessaloniki city.

ALGORITHMS FOR BIOBJECTIVE SHORTEST PATH PROBLEMS IN FUZZY NETWORKS

We consider biobjective shortest path problems in networks with fuzzy arc lengths. Considering the available studies for single objective shortest path problems in fuzzy networks, using a distance function for comparison of fuzzy numbers, we propose three approaches for solving the biobjective prob- lems. The rst and second approaches are extensions of the labeling method to solve the sing...

Pedestrian navigation and shortest path: Preference versus distance

Contemporary digital maps provide an option for pedestrian navigation, but they do not account for subjective preferences in the calculation of the shortest path, which is usually provided in terms of absolute distance. For this purpose, we performed a controlled experiment with local pedestrians, who were asked to navigate from point A to point B in a fast manner. The pedestrians’ routes were ...

K shortest path algorithms

This paper is focussed on algorithms to solve the k-shortest path problem. Three codes were described and compared on rand and grid networks using random generators available on http://www.dis.uniroma1.it/∼challenge9 Codes were also tested on the USA road networks available on the same URL address. One million paths were ranked in less than 3 seconds on random instances with 10 000 nodes and 10...

Engineering Shortest Path Algorithms

In this paper, we report on our own experience in studying a fundamental problem on graphs: all pairs shortest paths. In particular, we discuss the interplay between theory and practice in engineering a simple variant of Dijkstra’s shortest path algorithm. In this context, we show that studying heuristics that are efficient in practice can yield interesting clues to the combinatorial properties...
