Simulation of Corruption Decisions—An Agent-Based Approach

Corruption is one of the biggest barriers to sustainable development. Several objectives Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are directly linked with fight against corruption, as it has an influence on achievement every single development goal. The aim this research examine decision-making patterns in a typical corruption situation. following questions have been formulated: (1) what kind approaches effective partners maintaining different strategies, and how do these relate certain generations? (2) Is there difference between behavior employees SMEs, large corporations, public sector situation that provides opportunity for corruption? To answer questions, agent-based experiment was conducted, building prisoner’s dilemma. relationship cooperation examined through analysis situations uncover when which (artificial agents) participants first start cooperate or become corrupt. results show significant propensity cheat among generations. Furthermore, also deviation
