Simultaneous High-Efficiency Power Delivery and Energy-Efficient Forward Data Transmission Over Single Inductive Link

This paper presents a system for simultaneous wireless power and data transfer (SWPDT) over single inductive link. We design the frequency-splitting link to address trade-off between high efficiency (PTE) rate (DR). An active rectifier is designed conversion efficiency. Forward communication based on frequency-shift keying (FSK) modulation support DR transmission while delivering uninterrupted power. Moreover, we proposed low-power FSK demodulation circuits further improve energy of demodulation. The implemented with 180nm CMOS process occupies an area 0.836mm2. post-layout simulation results show that overall PTE (including resonant tanks rectifier) SWPDT can be up 76.5% 40mW load. Meanwhile, 1.11Mbps achieved. consumption $69.1~\mu \text{W}$ , showing 62.2pJ/bit. shows potential implantable biomedical applications.
