Gravity Centres of Smooth Planar Conves Regions from Digital Pictures
Representations of real objects by corresponding digital pictures cause an inherent loss of information. There are infinitely many different real shapes with an identical corresponding digital picture. The problem we are interested in is how effciently the gravity center (or centroid) of a planar convex region whose boundary has a continuos third derivative and positive curvature (at every poin...
متن کاملTHE LOCAL LINEARIZATION PROBLEM FOR SMOOTH SL(n)-ACTIONS
This paper considers SL(n,R)-actions on Euclidean space fixing the origin. We show that all C-actions on R are linearizable. We give C∞-actions of SL(2,R) on R and of SL(3,R) on R which are not linearizable. We classify the C-actions of SL(n,R) on R. Finally, the paper concludes with a study of the linearizability of SL(n,Z)-actions. RÉSUMÉ. Dans cet article, on considère les actions de SL(n,R)...
متن کاملNon-Smooth Stabilizers for Nonlinear Systems with Uncontrollable Unstable Linearization
We prove that every chain of odd power integrators perturbed by a C triangular vector eld can be stabilized in the large via continuous state feedback, although it is not stabilizable, even locally, by any smooth state feedback. The proof is constructive and accomplished by developing a machinery|a continuous type of adding a power integrator|that enables one to explicitly design a C globally s...
متن کاملSmooth Linearization for a Saddle on Banach Spaces
As a continuation of a previous work on linearization of class C of diffeomorphisms and flows in infinite dimensions near a fixed point, in this work we deal with the case of a saddle point with some non-resonance restrictions for the linear part. Our result can be seen as an extension of results by P. Hartman [2] and Aronson, Belitskii and Zhuzhoma [1] in dimension two. We also present an appl...
متن کاملAnalysis of Exact Linearization and Aproximate Feedback Linearization Techniques
This paper presents a study of linear control systems based on exact feedback linearization and approximate feedback linearization. As exact feedback linearization is applied, a linear controller can perform the control objectives. The approximate feedback linearization is required when a nonlinear system presents a noninvolutive property. It uses a Taylor series expansion in order to compute a...
