Soil health conceptualization differs across key stakeholder groups in the Midwest

Stakeholder conceptualizations of soil health inform agricultural decision-making. Currently, diverse sources knowledge have resulted in divergent across groups. Using a combination mail and online surveys corn (Zea mays L.), soybean (Glycine max [L.] Merr.), wheat (Tritcum aestivum L.) farmers (n = 89); USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) personnel 134); researchers 42) the Midwest; we (1) investigated how members these groups perceived prioritization by farmers, (2) explored conceptual linkages with health, (3) assessed efficacy testing methods. Farmers ranked as much higher priority (8.5/10) than NRCS expected (4.9 5.7, respectively).
