چکیده
The effect of plant species and genotypic diversity on productivity has been well documented but little is known about the contribution interaction between diversity. Since influence soil microorganisms diversity-productivity relationship increasingly recognized, we investigated potential interactions diversity, microbes. We hypothesized that non-additive effects could be microbe-driven. set up pea wheat monocultures mixtures in a growth chamber, varying for their levels under three different microbial contexts. assessed shoot root biomass production, mineral nitrogen content described bacterial communities. found involving both was higher than expected considering additive Rather synergy two positive observed mixture compensated negative Regarding influence, were all driven by community as no pre-sterilised soil. Our study suggests shaped three-way Thus, plant-microbe plant-plant determinant relationship.

Soil microbes drive the classic plant diversity-productivity pattern.
Ecosystem productivity commonly increases asymptotically with plant species diversity, and determining the mechanisms responsible for this well-known pattern is essential to predict potential changes in ecosystem productivity with ongoing species loss. Previous studies attributed the asymptotic diversity-productivity pattern to plant competition and differential resource use (e.g., niche comple...

One of the major goals in ecology is to determine the mechanisms that drive the asymptotic increase in ecosystem productivity with plant species diversity. Niche complementarity, the current paradigm for the asymptotic diversity-productivity pattern, posits that the addition of species to a community increases productivity because each species specializes on different resources and thus can mor...

In order to investigate the diversity of plant species in forested areas, this study was carried out in forestry near the Khuzestan Steel Industries Company with a total area of 60 hectares in the southeast of Ahwaz, Khuzestan province. For this purpose, 30 plot of 20 × 20 meters in size were systematically randomized in the forested area and 30 samples were taken in the control area. Within ea...
متن کاملThe unseen majority: soil microbes as drivers of plant diversity and productivity in terrestrial ecosystems.
Microbes are the unseen majority in soil and comprise a large portion of life's genetic diversity. Despite their abundance, the impact of soil microbes on ecosystem processes is still poorly understood. Here we explore the various roles that soil microbes play in terrestrial ecosystems with special emphasis on their contribution to plant productivity and diversity. Soil microbes are important r...
