Conceptual spaces and semantic similarities of colors
The paper presents a statistical evaluation of the typological data about color naming systems across the languages of the world that have been obtained by the World Color Survey. In a first step, we discuss a singular value decomposition of the categorization data that led to a small set of easily interpretable features dominant in color categorization. These features were used for a dimension...
متن کاملsome properties of fuzzy hilbert spaces and norm of operators
in this thesis, at first we investigate the bounded inverse theorem on fuzzy normed linear spaces and study the set of all compact operators on these spaces. then we introduce the notions of fuzzy boundedness and investigate a new norm operators and the relationship between continuity and boundedness. and, we show that the space of all fuzzy bounded operators is complete. finally, we define...
15 صفحه اولApproach Spaces for Near Families
This article considers the problem of how to formulate a framework for the study of the nearness of collections of subsets of a set (also more tersely termed families of a set). The solution to the problem stems from recent work on approach spaces, near sets, and a specialised form of gap functional. The collection of all subsets of a set equipped with a distance function is an approach space.
متن کاملEmbeddings of Levy Families into Banach Spaces
We prove that if a metric probability space with a usual concentration property embeds into a Banach space X, then X has a proportional Euclidean subspace. In particular, this yields a new characterization of weak cotype 2. We also find optimal lower estimates on embeddings spaces with concentration properties (i.e. uniformly convex spaces) into l ∞, thus providing an ”isomorphic” extension to ...
متن کاملLecture 1 Measurable Spaces Families of Sets
Families of Sets Definition 1.1 (Order properties). A countable1 family {An}n∈N of 1 To make sure we are all on the same page, let us fix some notation and terminology: • ⊆ denotes a subset (not necessarily proper). • A set A is said to be countable if there exists an injection (one-to-one mapping) from A into N. Note that finite sets are also countable. Sets which are not countable are called ...
