Sparse SYK and traversable wormholes

چکیده

We investigate two sparse Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev (SYK) systems coupled by a bilinear term as holographic quantum mechanical description of an eternal traversable wormhole in the low temperature limit. Each SYK system consists $N$ Majorana fermions random $q$-body interactions. The degree sparseness is captured regular hypergraph such way that Hamiltonian contains exactly $k\,N$ independent terms. improve on theoretical understanding property using known measures expansion. show version model gapped with ground state close to thermofield double state. Using Krylov subspace and parallelization techniques, we simulate for $q=4$ $q=8.$ sparsity allows us explore larger values than ones existing literature all-to-all SYK. analyze detail two-point functions transmission amplitude signals between systems. identify range parameters where revivals obey scaling predicted holography can be interpreted traversing wormhole.

Rotating traversable wormholes

The general form of a stationary, axially symmetric traversable wormhole is discussed. This is a generalization of the static, spherically symmetric wormholes first considered by Morris and Thorne. It is shown that such a wormhole generically violates the null energy condition at the throat. However, an example is presented in which a class of geodesics falling through it do not encounter any e...

Phantom energy traversable wormholes

It has been suggested that a possible candidate for the present accelerated expansion of the Universe is “phantom energy”. The latter possesses an equation of state of the form ω ≡ p/ρ < −1, consequently violating the null energy condition. As this is the fundamental ingredient to sustain traversable wormholes, this cosmic fluid presents us with a natural scenario for the existence of these exo...

Nonexistence theorems for traversable wormholes

Gauss–Bonnet formula is used to derive a new and simple theorem of nonexistence of vacuum static nonsingular lorentzian wormholes. We also derive simple proofs for the nonexistence of lorentzian wormhole solutions for some classes of static matter such as, for instance, real scalar fields with a generic potential obeying φV ′(φ) ≥ 0 and massless fermions fields.

Traversable wormholes: the Roman ring

In this brief report I introduce a yet another class of geometries for which semi-classical chronology protection theorems are of dubious physical reliability. I consider a “Roman ring” of traversable wormholes, wherein a number of wormholes are arranged in a ring in such a manner that no subset of wormholes is near to chronology violation, though the combined system can be arbitrarily close to...

Energy conditions, traversable wormholes and dust shells

Firstly, we review the pointwise and averaged energy conditions, the quantum inequality and the notion of the “volume integral quantifier”, which provides a measure of the “total amount” of energy condition violating matter. Secondly, we present a specific metric of a spherically symmetric traversable wormhole in the presence of a generic cosmological constant, verifying that the null and the a...
