Modifying PIARC’s Linear Model of Accident Severity Index to Identify Roads' Accident Prone Spots to Rehabilitate Pavements Considering Nonlinear Effects of the Traffic Volume
Pavement rehabilitation could affect the accident severity index (ASI) since restoration measures means more safety for road users. No research or project has been carried out to identify hazard points to build a linear model based on crash severity index. One of the very popular accident severity index models used in all countries is based on linear models to rehabilitate pavements and this pa...
متن کاملinvestigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures
deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
Clustering and Profiling Traffic Roads by Means of Accident Data
In Belgium, every year approximately 50.000 injury accidents occur in traffic, with almost 70.000 victims, of which 1.500 deaths (Belgian Institute for Traffic Safety, 2000). Not only does the steady increase in traffic intensity pose a heavy burden on the society in terms of the number of casualties, the insecurity on the roads will also have an important effect on the economic costs associate...
متن کاملAnalysis on Traffic Accident Injury Level Using Classification
Traffic Accidents are occurring due to development of automobile industry and the accidents are unavoidable even the traffic rules are very strictly maintained. Data mining algorithm is applied to model the traffic accident injury level by using traffic accident dataset. It helped by obtaining the characteristics of drivers behavior, road condition and weather condition, Accident severity that ...
متن کاملA Statistical Framework for Real-Time Traffic Accident Recognition
Over the past decade, automatic traffic accident recognition has become a prominent objective in the area of machine vision and pattern recognition because of its immense application potential in developing autonomous Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). In this paper, we present a new framework toward a real-time automated recognition of traffic accident based on the Histogram of Flow Gra...
