SPATIO-TEMPORAL ANALYSIS OF SCOUR AROUND JACKET TYPE OFFSHORE FOUNDATIONS UNDER CLEAR WATER AND LIVE BED CONDITIONS

As an important contribution to the fulfilment of renewable energy targets, offshore wind sector in Europe has grown significantly over past decade (WindEurope 2021). Jacket structures are becoming more widely used as substructures for turbines accommodate expansion towards greater water depth and provide a stable basis megastructures with hub heights than 200 m. However, there have been few studies (Chen et al., 2014; Baelus 2018; Welzel 2019; 2020) that systematically address scour development at jacket structures. In addition, while local equilibrium around pile foundations studied extensively (e.g. Melville Coleman, 2000; Sumer Fredsøe, 2001; Schendel 2020), on spatial patterns, particularly complex such jackets. this context, study aims improve understanding type foundations.
