Spatio-Temporal Cluster Detection of Dengue, Chikungunya, and Zika Viruses’ Infection in Rio de Janeiro State from 2010 to 2019

Dengue (DENV), chikungunya (CHIKV), and Zika (ZIKV) virus infections are widespread throughout the Rio de Janeiro state. The co-circulation of these emergent arboviruses constitutes a serious public health problem, resulting in outbreaks that can spatially temporally overlap. Environmental conditions favor presence, maintenance, expansion Aedes aegypti, primary vector urban arboviruses. This study assessed detection clusters state from 2010 to 2019. Notified cases dengue, chikungunya, were grouped by year according onset symptoms their municipality residence. period recorded highest number dengue epidemics along with simultaneous circulation viruses. analyzes showed central municipalities metropolitan regions associated higher risk areas. Central first most likely for Zika, second cluster chikungunya. Furthermore, northwest north comprised relative three arboviruses, underscoring impact less densely populated Brazil. identification high-risk areas over time highlights need effective control measures, targeted prevention interventions arboviral diseases.
