SPEC_PULS describes a suite of computer programs to simulate the emergent spectrum from radially-pulsating star. It combines Christy-type non-linear pulsation code with classical stellar atmosphere codes. The principal aim is interpret dynamical radially pulsating extreme helium star V652 Her, which shows strong shock at minimum radius. components are general enough treat other classes radial pulsation. theoretical shocked model line doubling, blue component emerging standstill velocity and accelerating blueward. doubling phase depends on depth parent ion. behaviour cores post-shock points drop in ionization temperature, although gas temperature remains high. Shock compression leads phase-dependent strengthening Stark-broadened wings, far wings responding first. With velocity, pressure-sensitive diagnostics, detailed tomography pulsation-driven Her seems possible. Even when no present, significantly different hydrostatic equilibrium. Using quasi-static approximation (e.g. maximum radius) may lead considerable underestimate star's mean effective surface gravity.
