Spray drift characteristics of pulse-width modulation sprays in wind tunnel

Pulse-width modulation (PWM) sprays can improve flow accuracy by adjusting duty cycle and frequency signal which accurately controls the relative proportion of opening time solenoid valve. The objective this research was to determine impacts PWM on spray drift characteristic. Spray tests were conducted in a wind tunnel with variable-rate spraying system. airborne sediment determined tracer method, potential reduction (DPR) compared reference condition 100% at vertical profile horizontal planes calculated, respectively. results show that, given frequency, droplet size decreases increase cycle, main reason is that liquid does not reach full pattern development lower cycle. Duty has greater impact than drift, influence weights 88.32% 77.89%, At addition size, may be affected pulsed pattern. From perspective reducing it recommended should set range 20%-70% reduce sprays. This provides pesticide scheme for variable technology, serve as theoretical basis parameter selection.
