Stand-Alone Hybrid Power Plant Based on SiC Solar PV and Wind Inverters with Smart Spinning Reserve Management

Stand-alone hybrid power plants based on renewable energy sources are becoming a more and interesting alternative. However, their management is complex task because there many variables, requirements restrictions as well wide variety of possible scenarios. Though proper sizing the plant necessary to obtain competitive cost energy, smart key guarantee supply at minimum cost. In this work, novel control strategy designed, implemented simulated under Thereby, proposed algorithm aims achieve maximum integration reducing usage non-renewable generators much guaranteeing stability microgrid. Different scenarios case studies have been analyzed by dynamic simulation verify operation controller. The main novelties work are: (i) stand-alone regarding battery storage system part spinning reserve, (ii) characterization largest loads non-priority loads, (iii) minimization needed reserve fuel consumption from diesel generators.
