Steady states and phase transitions in heterogeneous asymmetric exclusion processes

چکیده
Abstract We study nonequilibrium steady states in totally asymmetric exclusion processes (TASEPs) with open boundary conditions having spatially inhomogeneous hopping rates. Considering smoothly varying rates, we show that the are general classified by state currents direct analogy TASEPs uniform calculate bulk density profiles, which now nonuniform. also obtain phase diagrams plane of control parameters, which, despite boundaries curved lines, have same topology as their counterparts for conventional TASEPs, independent form rate functions. This reveals a type universality, not encountered critical phenomena. Surprisingly and contrast to transitions an TASEP hopping, our studies on model reveal all three first order nature. demonstrate this admits delocalised domain walls (DDWs) boundaries, demarcating generalised low high phases model. However, DDWs observed envelopes present generally lines.

Phase Transitions in Nonequilibrium Steady States and Power Laws and Scaling Functions of Surface Growth Processes
Three models of surface growth processes in nonequilibrium steady state (NESS): Edwards–Wilkinson Model, Mullins–Herring Model and Kardar–Parisi–Zhang Model, are presented. Power laws, universality of non-equilibrium distributions, and scaling functions are discussed in details together with some experiment results.
متن کاملFirst-order phase transitions in one-dimensional steady states
The steady states of the two-species (positive and negative particles) asymmetric exclusion model of Evans, Foster, Godrèche and Mukamel are studied using Monte Carlo simulations. We show that mean-field theory does not give the correct phase diagram. On the first-order phase transition line which separates the CP -symmetric phase from the broken phase, the density profiles can be understood th...
متن کاملCoupling Probabilities in Asymmetric Exclusion Processes
We consider the one-dimensional asymmetric simple exclusion process (asep) in which particles jump to the right at rate p and to the left at rate 1−p, interacting by exclusion. Suppose that the initial state has first-class particles to the left of the origin, second-class particle at sites 0 and 1, and holes to the right of site 1. We show that the probability that the two second-class particl...
متن کاملDynamic boundaries in asymmetric exclusion processes.
We investigate the dynamics of a one-dimensional asymmetric exclusion process with Langmuir kinetics and a fluctuating wall. At the left-hand boundary, particles are injected onto the lattice; from there, the particles hop to the right. Along the lattice, particles can adsorb or desorb, and the right-hand boundary is defined by a wall particle. The confining wall particle has intrinsic forward ...
