چکیده
Abstract We study stellar models for Betelgeuse using the HR diagram and surface abundances as observational constraints. Previous studies on have not systematically investigated abundances, but we believe they can be impacted by, thus used an constraint various parameters such initial mass, rotation, overshoot scheme. investigate with varying mass evolve past main sequence, examine red supergiant (RSG) properties in detail. For each vary rotation up to ?300 km s ?1 , test two different parameters. Overall, acceptable range is 12–25 M ? nonrotating only, decreased 15–24 . Also rotating models, find that v / K = 0.3 upper limit more rapidly are unable fit Betelgeuse’s RSG. In addition, report possibilities current stage of evolution, core helium burning or carbon beyond. certain 17 could both stages. Finally, discuss implications our results context merger scenarios which been suggested a mechanism attain observed velocity Betelgeuse.

Relativistic Stellar Models with Quadratic Equation of State
In this paper, we have obtained and presented new relativistic stellar configurations considering an anisotropic fluid distribution with a charge distribution and a gravitational potential Z(x) that depends on an adjustable parameter. The quadratic equation of state based on Feroze and Siddiqui viewpoint is used for the matter distribution. The new solutions can be written in terms of elementar...
متن کاملExact relativistic stellar models with liquid surface
A family of exact relativistic stellar models is described. The family generalizes Buchdahl’s n = 1 polytropic solution. The matter content is a perfect fluid and, excluding Buchdahl’s original model, it behaves as a liquid at low pressures in the sense that the energy density is non-zero in the zero pressure limit. The equation of state has two free parameters, a scaling and a stiffness parame...
متن کاملStellar Surface Imaging Using Closure Phase
We describe the use of interferometry to make images of features on the surfaces of cool stars. We describe observations of Betelgeuse (α Ori) and use this example to illustrate the requirements for astrophysical imaging with interferometers. We emphasise the importance of obtaining closure phase measurements and good Fourier plane coverage when imaging complex objects.
متن کاملFrom Detailed Digital Surface Models to City Models Using Constrained Simplification
We present a method to simplify high-detail full-featured digital surface models (DSM) of cities (i.e. containing the heights of trees, cars, buildings, etc.) geometrically in such a way that all relevant features are preserved, whereas noise and superfluous details collapse. The relevance of features is automatically evaluated using a semantically motivated shape detection and serves as constr...
متن کاملInterpreting Spectral Energy Distributions from Young Stellar Objects. II. Fitting observed SEDs using a large grid of pre-computed models
We present a method to analyze the spectral energy distributions (SEDs) of young stellar objects (YSOs). Our approach is to fit data with pre-computed 2-D radiation transfer models spanning a large region of parameter space. This allows us to determine not only a single set of physical parameter values but the entire range of values consistent with the multi-wavelength observations of a given s...
