چکیده
This work studies the dynamic strain localization and constitutive relationship of a Ti3Al2.5V alloy in jet engine containment system transparent polycarbonate conceived for aircraft canopy application by Digital Image Correlation (DIC) technique from quasi-static condition to high rates at different temperatures. The responses two materials show significant rate temperature sensitivities. Observations that local can reach values up 1000 % nominal necking zone. However, soars during softening then decreases rapidly with propagation, eventually becomes 20 until fracture. Appropriate viscoplastic models are determined both materials, which incorporated finite element simulations reveal trend evolution tensile tests. present shows kinds typical lightweight should be addressed carefully Split Hopkinson Tension Bar (SHTB)

Rate-Dependent Stiffening and Strain Localization in Physically Associating Solutions
Model physically associating solutions of acrylic triblock copolymer molecules in a midblock-selective solvent displayed non-linear strain-stiffening behavior which transitioned to rapid strain softening during shear start-up experiments at reduced rates spanning almost four orders of magnitude. Softening was believed to result from the shear-induced formation of highly localized regions of def...
متن کاملShear Localization due to Strain Softening in Side Pressed Cylinders
In this paper, shear localization due to strain softening in sidepressed cylinders, is inverstigated. Shear localization causes formation of macroscopic shear bands which can be obsserved in the metallographic cross-section. In this paper, for the first time a method is presented in which a simple two-slice model is used to study the formation of shear bands. The results obtained form this mode...

متن کاملStrain-rate and temperature dependent plastic yield in carbon nanotubes from ab initio calculations
Lattice yield to tension within practical time and temperatures is determined by the probability of defect formation. Its rate in nanotubes depends in turn on the transition state and activation barrier for the Stone-Wales bond rotations. Systematic ab initio computations of the barriers for the tubes of various symmetries and radii led to accurate calculation of plastic yield strain as a funct...
متن کاملStrain Hardening of Polymer Glasses: Effect of Entanglement Density, Temperature, and Rate
The strain hardening behavior of model polymer glasses is studied with simulations over a wide range of entanglement densities, temperatures, strain rates, and chain lengths. Entangled polymers deform affinely at scales larger than the entanglement length as assumed in entropic network models of strain hardening. The dependence of strain hardening on strain and entanglement density is also consi...
