Strategies for Effective Distance Learning in Foreign Language, Linguistics and Translation College Courses

Due to Covid-19, there was a sudden shift distance learning (DL) without prior preparation. Students and faculty surveys showed that 51% of the students were dissatisfied with EL, online communication their instructors, had difficulty understanding class lectures material concerns about exams. Even when face instruction resumed in Fall 2021, some courses still delivered online. It seems departments, colleges, universities will continue offer To make best use teaching learning, this article proposes model consisting strategies for making foreign language, linguistics translation college effective, interactive, engaging fun. Those are: Using free platforms, supplying devices good infrastructure both practicing using platform, supplementing platform one or more technologies, orientation, training support, telling logistics, selecting course resources, integrating global topics participation goals material, variety language skills videos, blogs, mobile apps others, effective techniques, assignments, activities, giving feedback, motivating students, interaction, nurturing classroom community, preparing following reliable testing procedures, instructor’s role environments, evaluating students’ DL experience, providing teachers’ professional development support.
