Strength and abrasion performance of recycled aggregate based geopolymer concrete

چکیده

This experimental work evaluated geopolymer concrete containing fly ash and slag by partial replacement of natural coarse aggregate (NCA) with recycled (RCA) to manufacture environmental-friendly concrete. The proportion aggregates considered consists 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% the total amount. Also, a steel fiber ratio 0.3% was utilized. mechanical properties abrasion resistance ash/slag-based were then assessed. Majorly, strength samples decreased increase RCA content. gave 28.3% lesser compressive 24% lower splitting tensile than NCA at one year. flexural specimens reduced 35% (from 5.34MPa 3.5MPa) incorporation RCA. 30% caused 23% 22.6% reduction in 56 days year, respectively. not significantly (less 10%) inclusion up 30%. Furthermore, wear thickness every sample less 1mm. 20% produced either insignificant or better results compared reference mixtures. As result, it that combination leads an eco-friendly mix acceptable short long-term engineering would lead sustainability production utilization sector.

Performance of Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement Containing Recycled Concrete Aggregate

In 1995, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) began reconstruction in Houston on a section of IH-10 with continuously reinforced concrete pavement (CRCP). The unique aspect of this project was the use of crushed concrete as both coarse and fine aggregates in the new concrete. No virgin aggregates were used. The primary objectives of this study were to evaluate (1) the material propert...

Comparative performance of concrete pavements with recycled concrete aggregate (RCA) and virgin aggregate subbases

Using recycled concrete aggregate (RCA) as base/subbase for road construction is alternative way to manage construction waste and reduces the need for virgin aggregates. This paper discusses the long-term performance of concrete pavements on RCA granular layer in comparison to concrete pavements on virgin aggregate granular layer. 18 representative RCA pavement sections across Iowa were primary...

Performance and Implementation of Low-Quality Recycled Concrete Aggregate

Our project seeks to greatly reduce the energy required for concrete production by using mostly recycled concrete. The use of recycled concrete aggregate (RCA) is not a new phenomenon, but has not been studied in the context of low-cost disaster reconstruction efforts, which was our focus—specifically, the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. In our experiments, we sought to replicate the variability in c...

Assessing relationships among properties of demolished concrete, recycled aggregate and recycled aggregate concrete using regression analysis.

Recycled demolished concrete (DC) as recycled aggregate (RA) and recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) is generally suitable for most construction applications. Low-grade applications, including sub-base and roadwork, have been implemented in many countries; however, higher-grade activities are rarely considered. This paper examines relationships among DC characteristics, properties of their RA and...

Performance of High-strength Concrete Made with Recycled Ceramic Aggregates

Recent scientific concerns to achieve sustainability in construction have suggested the implementation of using recycled aggregate in concrete because it has the potential to reduce the demand for extraction of natural raw materials and decrease the volume of wastes landfilled. In this respect, this study aims to investigate the suitability of using ceramic tile (CT) and ceramic sanitary (CS) w...
