چکیده
Nickel-cobalt spinel catalyst (NCO) is a promising for air oxidation of humic acid, which typical natural refractory organic matter and precursor toxic disinfection by-products. In this study, reductive etchers, NaBH4 or Na2SO3, were used to adjust the NCO surface structure increase performance. The modified (NCO-R) was characterized, relationship between its intrinsic properties catalytic paths discovered. results O2-temperature programmed desorption, NH3-temperature X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) demonstrated that reductant etching introduced oxygen vacancies increased active species acidity. addition, modification did not change raw hollow sphere NCO. crystallinity specific area NCO-R increased, average pore size decreased. XPS showed ratio Co3+/Co2+ in decreased compared with NCO, while Ni3+/Ni2+ increased. H2-temperature reduction H2 ability stronger. Due these changes chemical physical properties, exhibited much better performance than acid at 25 °C, total carbon (TOC) removal rate significantly from 44.4% using 77.0% NCO-R. TOC concentration by 90.0% after 12 h 90 °C.

Wet air oxidation of phenol using active carbon as catalyst
Catalytic wet air oxidation is a promising alternative for the treatment of phenolic waste water which cannot be treated in conventional sewage plants. Catalytic wet air oxidation of an aqueous phenol solution was conducted in a ®xed bed reactor operating in trickle ̄ow regime. Either active carbon or a commercial copper oxide supported over -alumina was used as catalyst. The performance of bot...
متن کاملCoordination tuning of cobalt phosphates towards efficient water oxidation catalyst
The development of efficient and stable water oxidation catalysts is necessary for the realization of practically viable water-splitting systems. Although extensive studies have focused on the metal-oxide catalysts, the effect of metal coordination on the catalytic ability remains still elusive. Here we select four cobalt-based phosphate catalysts with various cobalt- and phosphate-group coordi...

We report the preparation and characterization of spinel-structured FeCo2O4 nanoparticles for the efficient and selective oxidation of sulfides. The as-prepared FeCo2O4 nanoparticles were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), energy-dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). According to TEM images, the size of the...
متن کاملApplication of spinel-type cobalt chromite as a novel catalyst for combustion of chlorinated organic pollutants.
Various chromium-containing catalysts were tested for the total oxidation of trichloroethylene (TCE) as a model reaction for the catalytic combustion of chlorinated organic pollutants. A spinel-type cobalt chromite (CoCr2O4) among others was proven to be a very promising catalyst showing higher activity and higher CO2 selectivity than traditional alumina supported chromia. Even if both Cr3+ and...
