Strong hardness of approximation for tree transversals

چکیده
Let H be a fixed graph. The H-Transversal problem, given graph G, asks to remove the smallest number of vertices from G so that does not contain as subgraph. While simple |V(H)|-approximation algorithm exists and is believed tight for every 2-vertex-connected H, strongest known hardness approximation any tree was Ω(log|V(H)|)-inapproximability when star. In this paper, we identify natural parameter Δ T show T-Transversal NP-hard approximate within factor (Δ−1−ε) an arbitrarily small constant ε>0. As corollary, prove there such Ω(|V(T)|), exponentially improving best transversals.

strong approximation for itô stochastic differential equations
in this paper, a class of semi-implicit two-stage stochastic runge-kutta methods (srks) of strong global order one, with minimum principal error constants are given. these methods are applied to solve itô stochastic differential equations (sdes) with a wiener process. the efficiency of this method with respect to explicit two-stage itô runge-kutta methods (irks), it method, milstien method, sem...
