Structure-controlled polymers prepared by pseudo-living addition-condensation polymerization and their application to light harvesting.
An A,B-block amphiphilic polymer and a branched polymer were prepared by using a new type of pseudo-living addition-condensation polymerization. The first polymer showed an interphase photoinduced energy transfer in a micellar system, while the second type showed efficient light-harvesting ability.

متن کاملBiocatalytic amide condensation and gelation controlled by light.
We report on a supramolecular self-assembly system that displays coupled light switching, biocatalytic condensation/hydrolysis and gelation. The equilibrium state of this system can be regulated by light, favouring in situ formation, by protease catalysed peptide synthesis, of self-assembling trans- in ambient light; however, irradiation with UV light gives rise to the cis-isomer, which readily...
متن کاملPerformance and Structure of Thin Film Composite Reverse Osmosis Membranes Prepared by Interfacial Polymerization in the Presence of Acid Acceptor
During interfacial polymerization (IP) reaction between m-phenylenediamine (MPDA) and trimesoyl chloride (TMC), a by-product, i.e. hydrochloric acid can produce. This produced acid diffuses back in aqueous phase and protonates MPDA and reduces its reactivity that results in lowering of polymer yield and performance of membrane. Further, for getting consistency in reverse...
