Study of Series-Parallel and Power-Split DHT for Hybrid Powertrains

Abstract Dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT) is the developing trend of transmissions. This paper studies different types DHTs regarding structure, function, and performance. Firstly, structure function well-known in market are discussed analyzed. Through analysis, reasonability necessity modes electric motor power requirements that lie behind derived. Secondly, dynamics further compared with driving areas under conditions. Then, basic or minimum dynamic defined taken into consideration before economic comparison. To ensure effectiveness comparison, optimization configurations for each kind DHT carried out modular simulation model. The comparison conducted premise excluding influences results. Finally, sensitivity influence engine characteristics studied to find sensibilities two kinds technology. these studies, essential differences features can be derived help better understand decision choosing technical route original equipment manufacturers.
