Study of spray structure under flash boiling conditions using 2phase-SLIPI

چکیده

In gasoline engines, including conventional direct injection (GDI) engines and newly developed compression ignition (GCI) flash boiling of the spray occurs during throttling or low load operations. Superheated fuel that is injected into cylinder, where gas pressure lower than fuel’s saturation vapor pressure, experiences a fast phase change. Plume interaction collapse can occur as consequence boiling. The structure flashing has not been well elucidated experimentally because strong multiple-scattering effects in laser sheet imaging due to illumination out-of-laser-plane droplets. Here, structured planar (SLIPI) implemented for first time study sprays. Both front-view side-view cross-sections are examined reveal behaviors collapsing events. A comparison reconstructed 3D volume by SLIPI clearly shows advantage resolving inner collapsed spray. near-nozzle region on injector axis found be hollow, indicating bit downstream nozzle instead immediately at nozzle. This observation could obtained nor diffused back (DBI) techniques. this work, central tip observed 2D DBI image Rp = 0.1 case proven ’central jet axis’ formed radial collapse, but longer projection caused stronger adjacent plume circumferential interactions.

Numerical Simulation of Flash Boiling Effect in a 3-Dimensional Chamber Using CFD Techniques

Flash Boiling atomization is one of the most effective means of generating a fine and narrow-dispersed spray. Unless its complexity its potential has not been fully realized. In This Paper, a three dimensional chamber has been modeled with a straight fuel injector. Effect of Flash Boiling has been investigated by computational fluid dynamics (CFD) techniques. A finite volume approach with the ...

Planar droplets sizing of a hollow-cone spray using SLIPI-LIF/MIE

In this work, we report an original experimental approach for measuring the two-dimensional distribution of the droplets Sauter Mean Diameter (SMD) using the SLIPI-LIF/MIE technique. A hollow-cone spray is formed by continuously injecting water mixed with a non-toxic fluorescing dye at 20 bars injection pressure. The spray is illuminated using a continuous wave laser. The illumination wavelengt...

Soil-Structure Interaction of Buried Pipes Under Cyclic Loading Conditions

The safety of lifelines, as the most important urban facilities, under different conditions highly depends on the safe design and performance of these buried structures. This cannot be achieved unless their actual behaviors are well understood and considered at the designing stage. A new physical model was developed in Amirkabir University of Technology to study the behavior of buried pipes und...
