چکیده

Methanol (also known as CH3OH, methyl alcohol, hydroxymethane, wood or carbinol) is a widely used primary raw material. It one of the first organic chemicals to find extensive laboratory and industrial use. water are ideal binary systems that can be separated by conventional distillation. This study aims separate methanol-water using simulated double-effect distillation process in Aspen Plus. To obtain higher purity methanol consider high energy consumption process, with double column was used. Furthermore, single-column processes Plus software. The software version this simulation V.10 NRTL thermodynamics methods interaction parameters. effect equipped heat exchanger, splitter, pump. Moreover, design specification needed get wanted. Compared each temperature profile directly proportional number stages. By has been carried out, slightly different 97.1% 97.2%, respectively. In columns C1 C2 save 0.6% 0.37% indicates obvious advantages over terms saving.

Simulation of the Tetrahydrofuran Dehydration Process by Extractive Distillation in Aspen Plus

The aim of this work is to simulate and analyze an extractive distillation process (extractive distillation and recovery columns) for the separation of Tetrahydrofuran(THF)-Water azeotropic mixture using Aspen Plus® and Aspen Split simulators. Calculation of vapor liquid equilibrium of Tetrahydrofuran–Water– Entrainer system was done using the NRTL model, which binary interaction parameters wer...

Thermodynamic Study of Hot Potassium Carbonate Solution Using Aspen Plus

This paper presents a study on the thermodynamics and transport properties of hot potassium carbonate aqueous system (HPC) using electrolyte non-random two liquid, (ELECNRTL) model. The operation conditions are varied to determine the system liquid phase stability range at the standard and critical conditions. A case study involving 30 wt% K2CO3, H2O standard system at pressure of 1 bar and tem...

Analysis and Modeling of Vapor Recompressive Distillation Using ASPEN-HYSYS

HYSYS process modeling software was used to analyze the effect of reflux ratio and number of trays on the purity of ethylene in a vapor recompression distillation column and also in an ordinary distillation column. Analysis of data showed that with increased pressure a higher reflux ratio is needed to obtain a purity of 99.9% for both towers. In addition number of trays was varied to see its ef...

Using Mathematica to Teach Process Units: a Distillation Case Study

The question addressed here is how to integrate computational tools, namely interactive generalpurpose platforms, in the teaching of Process Units. Mathematica has been selected as a complementary tool to teach distillation processes, with the main objective of leading students to achieve a better understanding of the physical phenomena involved and thereafter design the corresponding equipment...

Two Phase Modeling of Char Combustion in a Circulating Fluidized Bed Reactor Using ASPEN PLUS

In this paper, combustion of char in the riser of circulating fluidized bed was modeled using ASPEN PLUS. Since physical and chemical phenomena are involved in the process, the model integrates the two-phase hydrodynamic sub-model with the reaction sub-model derived from the literature. In the proposed model, the fluidized bed is divided into several sections and the behavior of each section wa...
