چکیده
Abstract In the present study, a finite element impact model was developed and analyzed using commercial FEM code ANSYS® then validated via drop-weight experiment. Moreover, double-impactor models were designed with different distribution locations of two impactors to compare properties. A total 18 scenarios comprised asymmetric symmetric types performed. The effect location on resistance force duration time investigated: closer point is fabric center, longer time. addition, impactor failure deflection also investigated it concluded that regardless or scenario, smaller average distance between from fixed boundary, overall occurs. relevance energy absorption capacity identified. Furthermore, stress transverse deformation variation velocity behaviors investigated. These findings will provide important guidance for engineering soft body armor composite materials.

A Numerical Study on Aluminum Plate Response under Low Velocity Impact
In the present paper, a numerical study is performed to investigate the response of different plates aluminum alloys subjected to low velocity impact condition. In this regard, the square AA5083-H116 aluminum plates with dimensions 300×300 and 3 mm and 5 mm thick under low velocity impact are modelled, and a mesh convergence study is carried out to decide the appropriate number of elements. In ...

In the present paper, the problem of low velocity impact of plates made from different configurations of ceramic, aluminum, steel and composite (S-glass polyester) is analyzed numerically using Abaqus finite element software. The projectile is assumed to be a rigid body with a hemispherical head. Also, for ceramic layers, Holmquist constitutive model, for aluminum and steel layers, Johnson Coo...

In the present study experimental and numerical investigations were carried out to predict the low velocity impact response of four symmetric configurations: 10 ply E Glass, 10 ply AS4 Carbon, and two Hybrid combinations with 1 and 2 outer plies of E Glass and 8 and 6 inner plies of Carbon. All numerical investigations were performed using commercial finite element software, LS-DYNA. The test c...
متن کاملA numerical study on the impact behavior of foam - cored cylindrical sandwich shells subjected to normal / oblique impact
Finite element analysis was used to investigate the impact behavior of the foam-cored sandwich shells under the ballistic impact. The ballistic limit, failure mode of the face-sheet and energy absorption of the uniform/graded core were discussed in this paper. Based on the impact phase diagrams, the effects of several factors (i.e. projectile shape and diameter, face-sheet curvature and thickne...
متن کاملNumerical Modeling Of Fabric Impact
A numerical code has been developed to model the complex behavior of woven fabric panels subjected to ballistic impact. The code has the ability to model multiple-layer fabric panels, multiple projectile geometries, and fabric imperfections such as yarn slippage at crossovers and also at clamps. A discussion of the numerical methodology is presented, along with the results of numerical simulati...
