Study on Mineral Compositions of Direct Carbonated Steel Slag by QXRD, TG, FTIR, and XPS

Steel slag CO2 sequestration helps mitigate global warming and decrease the stockpile of steel (SS). Through orthogonal design tests single-factor tests, this paper evaluated effects water/solid mass ratio (w/s), gypsum (G/SS), molding pressure, curing duration on uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) uptake compacts. The results indicated that high w/s enhanced both capture ability. proper addition promote UCS increase slag. In addition, increasing pressure can significantly improve without reducing uptake. optimum conditions in study were a 0.20, G/SS 1/16, 27 MPa, under which 1 d 55.30 MPa 12.36%, respectively. Microanalyses showed activates mainly mayenite An water also increased hydration carbonation products greatly, strengthened had significant densification effect micro-pore structures. gives guidance application manufacturing green construction material.
