Study on Scale-Up of Anaerobic Fermentation Mixing with Different Solid Content

The scale-up technology of anaerobic fermentation stirring equipment is worthy attention. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations were used to study the mixing under different solid content conditions. applicability criteria was analyzed by investigating relative parameters, such as blade tip speed and Reynolds number. On this basis, index optimized verified. results revealed five common When less than 5%, tank should be scaled up according same Weber between 5% 10%, speed; it especially suitable for other conditions that limit shear rate. Scaling number not recommended due poor effect. x reached 0.75, there no need further reduce it. For systems, indices selected 15% 1.1, 1, respectively.
