Study on the Dynamic Optimal Control Strategy of an Electric-Hydrogen Hybrid Energy Storage System for a Direct Drive Wave Power Generation System

A direct drive wave power generation system (DDWPGS) has the advantages of a simple structure and easy deployment, is first choice to provide electricity for islands operation platforms in deep sea. However, due off-grid, source load cannot be matched, so accommodation an important issue. Hydrogen storage optimal offshore energy accommodation. Therefore, aiming at source-load mismatch problem DDWPGS, electric-hydrogen hybrid (HESS) DDWPGS designed this paper. Based on characteristics devices HESS, new dynamic allocation strategy its control are proposed. Firstly, empirical mode decomposition (EMD) utilized allocate fluctuations that need stabilized. Secondly, with state charge (SOC) battery operating alkaline electrolyzer being considered, assignments determined using rule-based method. In addition, model predictive (MPC) good tracking performance used adjust output electrolyzer. Finally, supercapacitor (SC) controlled maintain DC bus voltage while also balancing system’s power. simulation was established verify feasibility system. The results show HESS can stabilize dynamically when captures instantaneous Moreover, not only reduce start-stop times but help extend service life.
