چکیده
ObjectiveTo analyse the surface roughness and microhardness of artificial enamel white spot lesions before after WSL formation, treatment (Opalsutre™ microabrasion, Sylc® bioactive glass, ICON® resin infiltration), pH cycling with help profilometer tester digital Vickers tester.Materials methodsSeventy-five extracted molars were used to acquire one hundred specimens. 50 specimens randomly assigned five groups (n = 10) for study: 1) Sound group, 2) 3) micro abrasion (MA; Opalustre, Ultradent, South Jordan, UT, USA), 4) glass 45S5 Sylc powder (Sylc; Denfotex Research Ltd, Inverkeithing, UK), 5) ICON infiltration (ICON; DMG, Hamburg, Germany). An additional 25 obtain slabs study, which also same groups. All underwent a final stage cycling. Surface measurements performed at different stages all groups.ResultsRegarding roughness, significantly reduced compared Opalustre Sylc, no significant difference between Sylc. In terms microhardness, showed highest improvement, followed by then Opalustre. Both affected demineralization, partially improved treatment, regressed cycling.ConclusionICON infiltrant can be considered as superior option improving while demonstrated relatively poorest performance other options. It is noteworthy that procedure had an adverse impact irrespective used.

Management of Enamel White Spot Lesions
Dental caries is a highly prevalent multifactorial disease and is a major public health problem. A goal of modern dentistry is to manage enamel white spot lesions noninvasively and effectively an attempt to prevent disease progression and improve esthetics, strength and function. The progression of caries has been tried to be curbed at initial stage only but for that only use of fluoride applic...

Purpose: To provide an overview of different indications suitable for treatment with the technique of resin infiltration (Icon, DMG), such as white-spot lesions (WSL), enamel fluorosis, and molar-incisor hypomineralisation (MIH), and to propose a valid and strategy feasible in dental surgeries for screening of dental color improvement and -stability. Method: A non-systematic review of the liter...

statement of the problem: demineralization of enamel adjacent to orthodontic appliances frequently occurs, commonly due to insufficient oral hygiene. purpose: the aim of this study was to compare two microabrasion techniques on improving the white spot lesions as well as subsequent enamel discoloration. materials and method: sixty extracted premolar teeth without caries and hypoplasia were sele...
متن کاملEffect of surface treatment on enamel surface roughness
PURPOSE To compare the effects of different methods of surface treatment on enamel roughness. MATERIALS AND METHODS Ninety human maxillary first premolars were randomly divided into three groups (n=30) according to type of enamel surface treatment: I, acid etching; II, Er:YAG laser; III, Nd:YAG laser. The surface roughness of enamel was measured with a noncontact optical profilometer. For eac...
متن کاملEffect of Fluoride Gels on Microhardness and Surface Roughness of Bleached Enamel
The effect of bleaching treatments containing added calcium and combined with neutral or acidic fluoride gels on tooth enamel was investigated in vitro through Knoop microhardness (KHN) and surface roughness (SR) measurements. A total of 60 bovine incisors were tested, including 30 for SR measurements and 30 for KHN measurements. The specimens were divided into 12 groups and subjected to a blea...
