This paper proposes a new switching median filter for suppressing multi-pixel impulse noise in X-ray images. A is understood as set of several neighboring pixels, the intensity each significantly exceeds background intensity. Multi-pixel can occur, example, due to blooming effect, reason being limited value pixel saturation capacity. article defines thresholds increment relative eight immediate neighbors, above which current processed by filter.
