چکیده
Abstract Vicarious calibration coefficients ( k v ) of Second-generation GLobal Imager (SGLI) for ocean color processing were derived using in-situ radiometric buoy measurements from the Marine Optical BuoY (MOBY) and BOUée pour l'acquiSition d'une Série Optique à Long termE (BOUSSOLE). Two aerosol-model look up tables (LUTs) used in GCOM-C aerosol retrieval algorithm (LUT-A) previous version atmospheric correction (LUT-B) tested procedures to calculate retrieve remote sensing reflectance R rs optical thickness (AOT). Bias processed compared AERONET-OC was reduced by applying determined (i.e., corrected SGLI radiance = original radiance/ ). LUT-A yielded smaller AOT bias AOT; on other hand, LUT-B gave noise due gentle slope even though it caused overestimation. When adjusting measurements, about 1.1 1.2 near-infrared (NIR) channel. However, NIR channel close 1.0 when land surface Radiometric Calibration Network (RadCalNet) used. The with MOBY BOUSSOLE are currently adopted standard processing. Improvement is needed, however, design an optimal LUT suitable both purposes.

Results from the Vicarious Calibration of ADEOS/AVNIR and the Visible and Near-Infrared Channels of OCTS with AVIRIS
A field campaign for the vicarious calibration of the instruments ADEOS/AVNIR (Advanced Earth Observing Satellite/Advanced Visible and Near-Infrared Radiometer) and the visible to near-infrared channels of the Ocean Color and Temperature Scanner (OCTS) was conducted based on the reflectance-based method. The results show a not so small difference between the estimated top of atmosphere (ToA) ra...
متن کاملAbsolute calibration of AVHRR visible and near-infrared channels using ocean and cloud views
Methods for absolute calibration of visible and near-infrared sensors using ocean and cloud views have been developed and applied to channels 1 (red) and 2 (near-infrared) of the Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) for the NOAA-7. -9 and -I I satellites. The approach includes two steps. First step is intercalibration between channels 1 and 2 using high altitude (12 km and above) br...
متن کاملSemantic Image Segmentation Using Visible and Near-Infrared Channels
Recent progress in computational photography has shown that we can acquire physical information beyond visible (RGB) image representations. In particular, we can acquire near-infrared (NIR) cues with only slight modification to any standard digital camera. In this paper, we study whether this extra channel can improve semantic image segmentation. Based on a state-of-the-art segmentation framewo...
متن کاملVicarious Calibration of Meris over Dark Waters in the near Infrared
We propose to evaluate the calibration of MERIS (Medium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer) over dark waters in the near infrared. We work with five months of data, from July to November 2003, over five world sites: Venice and Lampedusa in Italy, El Arenosillo in Spain, MOBY/Lanai and CalCOFI/San Nicolas in United States. The sites are all equipped with a CIMEL station that forms part of the AERON...
متن کاملVicarious calibration of the moderate-resolution imaging spectroradiometer airborne simulator thermal-infrared channels.
We made an experimental vicarious calibration of the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) Airborne Simulator (MAS) thermal infrared (TIR) channel data acquired in the field campaign near Mono Lake, Calif. on 10 March 1998 to demonstrate the advantage of using high-elevation sites in dry atmospheric conditions for vicarious calibration. With three lake-surface sites and one snow...
