SYSTEMATIC FIELD APPLICATION OF ENHANCED PLASMONIC ORGANIC SOLAR CELL: AN OVERVIEW

Organic solar cells (OSCs) have attracted considerable research interest due to their satisfactory properties including light-weight, low-cost, low-temperature fabrication process, semi-transparency and mechanical flexibility. Recent advances in OSCs demonstrated above 10% efficiency single-junction cells, indicating a strong competitiveness when compared with the commercial silicon photovoltaic system. To obtain maximum efficiency, there is trade-off between light absorption charge transport efficiency. Plasmonic light-trapping scheme feasible approach maximize while maintaining give an overall look at plasmonic organic we review recent progress on plasmonic-enhanced devices by integration metal enhancers, both experimental theoretical works. Among varying proposed structures, nano particles are preferable because of scattering properties, particle size tunability, shape, dielectric environment. In addition, design approaches based plasmonics can be used improve permitting reduction physical thickness cell absorber layers, yielding novel options for solar-cell designs. Also, simplicity preparation methods easily compatible standard process.
