Wellens' Syndrome with a proximal left anterior descending artery occlusion
The case is a 52-year-old male admitted to cardiology department with chest tightness. Admission ECG showed nontypical T-wave changes in V2-V4 leads in pain peroids, and increasing severe narrowing of proximal LAD. Cardiac enzymes were abnormal. Emergency coronary angiography showed severe stenosis (99%) in proximal LAD.
متن کاملTwelve months follow-up after retrograde recanalization of superficial femoral artery chronic total occlusion
INTRODUCTION Fifty percent of cases of peripheral artery disease are caused by chronic total occlusion (CTO) of the superficial femoral artery (SFA). Ten-fifteen percent of percutaneous SFA recanalization procedures are unsuccessful. In those cases the retrograde technique can increase the success rate of the procedure, but the long-term follow-up of such procedures is still unknown. AIM To a...
متن کاملLeft ventricular function after recanalization of chronic total occlusion
We read with great interest the article by Erdogan et al. that was recently published in Clinics (1). In this study, the authors evaluated the role of novel echocardiographic techniques in detecting left ventricular functional recovery after successful percutaneous coronary intervention to treat chronic total occlusion. Their study highlights the benefits of restoring blood flow in symptomatic ...
متن کاملTransradial retrograde recanalization of totally occluded left anterior descending artery using a single 7 fr guiding catheter.
The retrograde approach for percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) of chronic total occlusion (CTO) has helped to improve the success rate. It is usually performed through collateral connections that originate from the contralateral coronary artery to the occluded one and by using two arterial accesses and two guiding catheters, most commonly from the femoral approach. A first reported case o...
متن کاملAntegrade approach to stumpless chronic total occlusion of ostial left anterior descending artery: first using a side branch cutting technique.
The approach to a chronic total occlusion (CTO) still remains one of the most technical challenges in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). CTO lesions with a blunt entry point, calcification, and failure of a previous approach, are the independent predictors of CTO-PCI failure. Here we report a successful antegrade approach for reattempted CTO-PCI of a left anterior descending artery (LAD)...
